Cheap and free date ideas in Barcelona

Some of Barcelona's best dates cost nothing: the city from a hilltop, a walk down a rambla to the sea, a picnic in a park. Pair one with a cheap drink or a shared plate and you have a date that feels generous without the bill.

Make a cheap date feel special

  • Bring the picnic yourselves: bread, cheese, fruit and something to drink from any market.
  • Time it for golden hour. The same walk feels completely different an hour before sunset.
  • Split a few shared plates instead of a full dinner.
  • Plan one small surprise: a favourite pastry, a playlist, a view they haven't seen.
