Double text checker

Double texting isn't a crime, but timing and tone matter. This tool will ask what you sent, how long ago and what's at stake, then tell you whether a second message is a good idea and what it should say.

How it will work

  1. 1Tell us what you sent and when.
  2. 2Get a clear answer: send, wait, or let it go.
  3. 3If it's send, get a light follow-up that doesn't sound needy.

When a second text is fine

  • Your first message was a plan and they haven't said yes or no: a friendly check-in is fine.
  • You've remembered something to add: send it, keep it light.
  • Give it a day or two unless it's about something time-sensitive.
  • Make the second message stand on its own: new information, not “??”.
  • If two messages in a row go unanswered, let them come to you.

Questions

Is double texting needy?

Not by itself. One relaxed follow-up is normal; a stream of messages without replies is what feels needy.

What should a follow-up say?

Something light and specific: a new plan, a funny thing that reminded you of them, or a simple “still up for Thursday?”.

They replied after days. Now what?

If the reply is warm, answer normally. People get busy.
